What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are specially formulated gels designed to reverse signs of aging or enhance facial contours by adding targeted volume. They are commonly used to enhance cheeks, define the jawline, soften nasolabial folds, and restore a youthful look to areas that have begun to sag or deflate. Dr. Lopes or one of our expert injectors selects the right filler based on each patient’s anatomy, concerns, and desired results.
The active ingredient in most fillers is hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance found in the skin, eyes, and joints, known for its ability to bind and retain water. HA fillers produce immediate results; some fillers, such as Sculptra®, are called biostimulators because they stimulate the production of collagen over time.
