Breast Augmentation Aftercare — Virginia Beach Recovery

Once you leave the facility following your breast implant surgery, our clinical staff will be in contact with you via phone in order to ensure the breast augmentation aftercare phase goes smoothly. This is also a good time to answer any questions that may arise.
Following surgery, you will wear a surgical bra to assist in the breast augmentation aftercare process and help your breasts settle into their permanent shape. This bra will remain in place until you are cleared for a shower, which usually only takes a day or two depending on the patient. Depending on the doctor’s preference, the surgical bra may be worn for up to two weeks.
Feel free to walk around your house that same evening, but avoid any straining or lifting.
Before surgery, the doctor will write prescriptions for you for pain and anti-nausea medication, which will minimize any nausea and pain from the surgery. Suture removal is quick and easy. It typically begins 10 to 14 days after surgery.
